Where is the BCM located on a 2009 Pontiac G6?

The BCM is located on the drivers side under the the steering column. It is behind the fuses and to get to it you have to remove the bash board plastic, than a pice of metal and than you have to remove the fuses box. It will take you approximately 20 min to remove everything.

Where is the transmission control module on a Pontiac g6?

It’s under the carpet on the passenger’s side floor board.

Borrowed a diagnostic tool from a friend and it showed the following… lost communication with engine control module/powertrain control module “A”. Also want to add that battery shows only 9 volts at terminals + neg. cable is a bit loose connecting to battery. Will a low battery cause this lost communication thing?

Do you put the top down on a Pontiac G6?

WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT PUT THE TOP DOWN UNTIL YOU HAVE IT FILLED! If you do then you will have to remove the trunk, backseat, 5 actuator pins and many other parts to your car just to manually close the lid. It is literally the worst job I have ever done on a car! I would rather change and engine.

Where is the BCM located on a 2006 Pontiac g6?

THe body control module is in the center of the dash, passengers side. If you remove the cover for the fuse block you will see it. THe BCM is the part that holds the fuses in this application.

How can I program a new GM BCM?

1)I buy a new replacement bcm from my gm dealer, install it, start the truck and drive it to the dealer for programming. You could do this, you will have to program the security code first. Then drive it in to have the RPO’s programmed in the BCM.

How is the BCM on a GM Truck wired?

The way your truck should be wired is that the bcm and pcm are wired togeather then they have independant circuits back to the dlc so that either module can communicate with the scan tool independant of the other. The bcm is what receives the ignition switch signal and sends out the signals to all other modules to activate.

Can a truck start without a BCM module?

Again on an 07 this would be true but not on an 03. The truck will not start without the bcm because of the security but it does not send out the on signal for the other modules like a new one would. Believe me, I’ve been all over this truck checking things and testing. At this point my next step is to replace the bcm.

How does the BCM connect to the PCM?

It says the bcm is the Power Mode Master (PMM) and controls all other modules including the pcm (on my truck anyway). The wiring diagrams show there is no direct link between the pcm and the diagnostic link connector, it shows the pcm connects directly to the bcm which then connects to the dlc.

I was just curious if anybody here has experience in reprogramming a key fob for a 2007 Pontiac G6. The car seems to have a Vehicle Theft Protection system, because it engages when I lock up the car, but it doesn’t trigger when I mess with the door handle, not sure if thats important but I’m throwing it in there.

Pontiac called it MALL/PGM in the grand prix/sunfire/sunbird, etc… in the G6 apparently changed names… I found online a guy claims the MALL/PGM stands for “Multifunction Alarm Lock and Lighting” and PGM = “Programming”… that said in our cars, as you found no such label…

Where can I buy a used GM car?

You can always try non-gm dealers like ford or chrysler too, nearly every major dealer and their mom sells a used GM car, so they might have a tech 2 on hand and might do it for cheap), or bring a 6-pack of beer to a local repair shop and make friends with a tech there who can do it real quick.
