What was the spark on the 96 Polaris Indy 500?
96 Polaris Indy 500, no spark. Swapped CDi and regulator with running sled. No spark. Keyswitch and kill switch show good continuity. Checked all connections, seem alright. Was running when put away last year.Any answers?

96 xlt sp – No spark! I have a 96 xlt sp with the 600 triple in it. Now last night when i went to fire it up it wouldnt start. So the first thing i did was put the spark plug tester on each of the coil wires and got nothing. So i know its not the coils cause i dont think all 3 would die at the same time.

I need help with my sled. does any one no how to test the cdi and the coils on a 91 indy 650? i havent been able to get it to spark for 2 years can any help/ you can test the stator coils with a multimeter and you can test the ignition coils . There is no test for the CDI.

You can have a broken wire on the stator plate, going into the engine housing or where the wires are clipped to the stator plate by a metal clamp. Being it worked fine last year and doesn’t work now, perhaps there was water under your recoil cover and it froze and cracked the coil or that it rusted over the summer and corroded the coil wiring.

Why is my Polaris Indy 600 XLT not running?
Polaris Indy 600 XLT HELP! I have a “new to me” Polaris Indy 600 XLT triple I just bought last weekend…running. I used it two days ago without problem. Now it won’t start. Compression is good, plugs all have good spark therefore I am certain the ignition is fine.

Yes, by unplugging the black wire you eliminate any problems from the harness or switches. That leaves the stator coil, CDI or ignition coil. Even the factory CDI testers are a crap shoot, so you test the stator and ignition coil and if those are good you replace the CDI. The other option is to swap out the parts.

Why is the spark plug not working on my mower?
If your throttle cable play is out of adjustment or if the switch is stuck, it will shut off the spark. You can test it with an ohm meter and it should read fully open and then fully closed as you operate the throttle lever. Just got back from checking it out. Unhooked black wire to CDI still no spark.
What should I do if my INDY 550 won’t start?
Turn the choke on. With fresh fuel and empty carbs, it should take between 5 and 15 pulls to fire. If after all that (maybe 1/2 hour?) if it’s not starting (or at least sputtering), and the lights still aren’t lighting while pulling, I’d dig deeper.
