Regardless of the motivation for removal, the headliner is held in place by nine Phillips screws: three on the leading edge and three on each side. They’re all accessible by opening the top halfway. if the locks are unlocking but the roof does not lift when the boot is fully open then its most likely the switches in the roof. its really easy to take off the roof lining and remove ballows from switches giving full operation once again.
