What to do about vibration in Honda Odyssey?

What to do about vibration in Honda Odyssey?

Had this exact problem on a 2006 with 90K miles. Fixed it by replacing both front axles. Started by doing engine mounts… (2 out of 3 shot) …..but that did not help the vibration. It is a long thread but I have been fighting this for a few months.

Why does my Honda Odyssey make a rumbling sound when going up hills?

My 2000 makes a rumbling sound when going up hills at 70 mph. The rumbling sound stops when I reduce speed to 50 mph or get to the top of the hill. No problems going downhill or on level ground. Car has 263,000 miles and I thought that the wheel bearings needed replacement.

Is there vibration when going from 60 to 70 mph?

Oh, and if while going from 80 to a stop or lower speed, there’s no vibration. No vibration while braking (which would indicate warped rotor). I have those on my truck…. I KNOW warped rotor. EDIT: Forgot to mention that hydraulic engine mount is OK.. that was replaced about 20k mi ago. No vibration in ECO as long as not between 60-70.

What kind of vibration does a 2005 Honda Odyssey have?

While I was there, another woman that had a 2005 ex leather was there for the 6th time for vibration. One of my best friends has a 2006 exl-dvd and he has the same problem. This has nothing to do with wheel balancing.

Why does my Honda Odyssey make a lot of noise?

1. If the noise is constant then might be bad wheel bearing (s). 2. If it occurs when accelerating around 55mph then it could be the transmission “lugging”. Lugging occurs when the transmission is in overdrive at a very low rpm. This is normal to an extent. If it lugs hard then the vibration is transmitted through the engine mounts.

What does the ODY do on a Honda Odyssey?

But I’d love to get some more input from others. The Ody, for maximizing fuel economy has transmission that shifts up into the tallest gear whenever possible (light throttle, medium speed) and the torque converter locks (again normal, designed to do this) to limit slipping and maximize effeciency.

What causes vibration when accelerating to 60 mph?

Had the same problem when accelerating between 55 – 60MPH. While the boots were not torn, grease managed to sift through. No more vibrations. I had the same problem and vibration gone after replacing the both drive shafts. You say Vibration gone after replacing the both drive shafts.

Vehicle speed matters when you feel a vibration. Different problems are going to show themselves when driving at different speeds.

What causes Honda Odyssey to go into limp mode?

Reduced or no acceleration: Engine misfires cause oxygen sensors to generate imbalanced air-gasoline mixtures. Imbalanced mixtures can make the vehicle lose power or stop completely. Owners have reported cases of their Odysseys going into limp mode (the engine does not rev up past 3500 rpm), often causing near-collisions.

What causes a Honda Odyssey to lose balance?

When one cylinder does not fire properly, the engine may lose balance, causing heavy vibrations in the car. These vibrations are noticeable and often occur during acceleration or when the vehicle is idling. . Reduced or no acceleration: Engine misfires cause oxygen sensors to generate imbalanced air-gasoline mixtures.

What should I do if my Honda Odyssey vibrates?

2006 Honda Odyssey with about 120,000 miles on it. Check engine light and VSA light came on at the same time. Car vibrates dramatically and has little to no acceleration. Put off the engine and restarted. Car worked fine after that. Has happened twice in the last 2 weeks. Any thoughts on what this might be + what do I need to do to fix it?

Why is my Honda Odyssey going into limp mode?

Auto parts stores will read them for free, but most use equipment that will only pull current codes with the engine light on. Your Honda is going into “limp” mode and has significant issues. 120K miles on the original plugs means you have to a lot of stuff to deal with. The Odyssey tends to have transmission problems as they age.
