Why is there no power on the blue brake output wire?
If there is no power on the blue wire when the manual override is activated, the brake controller is probably bad and would need to be replaced. If you have a proportional brake controller and are testing for power when the brake pedal is pressed, there will be no power on the blue wire.
What happens when no power is found at brake controller?
If no power is found at the connector, the problem is in the wiring between the connector and the brake controller. Check junctions in the wire back to the controller; these tend to become corroded and fail to carry current. If power is found at the controller it’s time to move on to the trailer.

It connects to the wire on this switch that carries a signal ONLY when the brake pedal is pressed. It should not have a signal at any other time. Use a circuit tester, like # 40376, to test the wires. If your brake controller red wire is not connected to the correct wire, or is loose or broken, this would cause the problem you are experiencing.
