Start off with exhaust is the best you can start with. A intake is good when you already have a exhaust system. Intake will make lose some low-end, I know because I have experienced it, I am going to get a plenum spacer for my Throttle body so it can regain that low-end, which is for 2.5rs but will work the same for a NA Forester.

NDS and TenTenths have higher mileage cars and have had no issues AFAIK. Oil pressure and temperature sensors are a must in turbo cars IMHO. Very intersting to hear from your side of the Pond that this is an issue. The Independent Subaru Garage that I use, has always slated the 2.5 Litre engine.
