What is the code for Honda Pilot Oil pressure switch?

Thanks to this forum for all this advice when the CEL showed this code on my recently purchased 2011 Honda Pilot. Here’s my chance to give back for all the 2009-2011 Pilot owners with a flashing “D” and DTC 0847. The problem is purely electrical so that’s good news. The other good news is that Honda redesigned the part.

Why is the D light blinking on my Honda Pilot?

D light flashing and engine light on went away for a few hours then it came back on. If you want to avoid the dealer, go to a parts store and get the code read. However if its a Honda specific code, be ready for them to be unable to read. The switches seem to be a known issue and are very easily replaced.

Where can I get p0847 transmission oil pressure switch code?

I used my Acutron OBD2 reader and got the P0847 code. Using this post, was able to pickup the switch and washer from a local Honda dealer to change out with little issue. The hardest part was trying to find/borrow the 22mm deep socket (7/8 SAE socket works BTW).

What is the D code on a Honda Pilot?

Got the “Check Transmission” Warning in the center screen, a CEL, and Blinking D. Code Read as P0847. Went to local stealership who tried to tell me that was an Autozone Code and refused to help find the part # associated with the Error Code.

What does the p0847 Honda engine code mean?

Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector’s pins. What does this mean? The cost to diagnose the P0847 HONDA code is 1.0 hour of labor. The auto repair’s diagnosis time and labor rates vary by location, vehicle’s make and model, and even your engine type.

Why is the engine light blinking on my Honda Pilot?

Just got back from Honda dealership and pulled out a code P0847 / faulty transmission fluid pressure swtitch. Will need to be back this Saturday, parts need to be ordered. This has happened a few times on my 2004 AWD EX. Apparently it is a circuit board glitch. It goes away after you park and turn the engine off.
