What is Honda FR-V?
The Honda FR-V, marketed as the Honda Edix in Japan, is a six-passenger compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that was manufactured by Honda from 2004-2009 (with marketing ending in 2011 in some regions), over a single generation. The FR-V was noted for its 3+3 seating configuration, along with the Fiat Multipla.
Where can I buy a used Honda FRV?
If you’re dead set on getting this car, buying second hand is by far the best way to go about it. Here at Motors.co.uk there’s an incredible selection of pre owned cars for sale that boast low prices and high quality. What this means is that you’ll pay considerably less for a used Honda FR V and it’ll be almost like new for the most part.
How many miles does a Honda FRV have?
I’ve had 3 of these cars, two as Jap imports and one domestic. They are literally bullet proof. The one I have now has 250000 miles on it and still going strong. So easy to self service and passes NCT (MOT) every year without fail. The only draw back is the 1,8 petrol version is not economical, can be very thirsty.
When did Honda stop making the Honda FRV?
Honda discontinued the FR-V in 2011. Would finding parts be a problem? I am planning to keep the car for next 4-5 years. The engine and transmission are standard Honda Civic items so no problems there. Body parts and light lenses might be more difficult but there is always a specialist somewhere in the world.
Is the Honda FRV 2.0 petrol or diesel?
Our diesel ok-ish on fuel but friends’ 1.7 and 2.0 petrol versions drink it – low 30s round town if you’re careful. Reliability dodgy on the diesel (badly designed clutch slips and wears out double quick and other issues like breaking camchains and blown turbos). The rest of our car has been ok bar an intermittent earth fault.
What’s the best gear for a Honda FRV?
I tend to go into 5th gear at 50mph and 6th or cruise at 60 mph. My car has good climate control but also a sunroof which is an added bonus for warmer days. Honda advised me a while ago that the FR-V has a timing chain so you shouldn’t ever have to change it as you would with a timing belt.
Which is better Honda FRV or Honda diesel?
The 2.0 petrol engine is beautiful but it wants to/needs to rev and isn’t great for pulling a tank like the FRV. Diesel for sure the nicer engine in the FRV, loads of low down grunt and better economy – made my choice as soon as I drove one. **But** they are flawed engines – Honda’s first diesel – have a google around on iCTDi problems.
When was the last year Honda FRV was made?
The boot is massive on them, compared to another 7 seater Honda Stream we have. I only wish they had continued making this car, 2009 is the last year I believe. If you’re looking for an older cheaper versatile runaround, this is the car.
Where do you sit in a Honda FRV?
Honda advised me a while ago that the FR-V has a timing chain so you shouldn’t ever have to change it as you would with a timing belt. The middle sit in the front folds down, but I tend to leave mine up all the time. Legroom in that seat isn’t brilliant, so an older child or small adult would be best suited sitting there.
