This service includes; removing the transmission fill/drain plug to remove the old automatic transmission fluid. reinstalling transmission fill/drain plug. refilling the transmission with new automatic transmission fluid to the proper level.
When did the transmission service required message appear?
About 4 months ago my wife got this “Transmission Service Required” message flash on the screen while she was driving on the freeway. No noises or anything else. The message disappeared once she arrived and stopped / restarted the car. Again this afternoon the message appeared, and my wife took a picture.

When does the TSR warning light come on?
Every time I drive at high altitude (I drive back and forth from Oakland to Tahoe regularly) my Transmission Service Required (TSR) warning comes on. If I don’t go to Tahoe and stay in the Bay Area, it is never an issue. I’ve reset the light twice, only to have it come on when I approach Donner Summit again.
