What do you need to know about the ECU pinouts?
Anyone doing any serious work regarding these ECU pinouts (engine converions, different computers, rewiring etc) also needs to know the pinouts of the main relay. It is called the “MFI Relay”. It has 2 relays in it, one controling the fuel pump. The other sends power to the sensors, injector resistor, and the ECU.
Can a ecumaster EMU be short circuited?
•Never short-circuit the wires of the engine’s wiring loom or the outputs of the ECUMASTER EMU. •All modifications to the engine’s wiring loom must be performed with the negative terminal of the battery disconnected. •It is critical that all connections in the wiring loom are properly insulated.
Is there a wiring diagram for a Bosch ECU?
The database includes wiring diagrams not all those ECUs but it includes a lot of other technical information. and Wiring Diagrams for ME75 – ME75 schemes (6.9Mb). ME71, ME711, ME75, ME7510, ME7520, MED7.1.1, MED7.5.11 are also in the database.
How is the starter signal sent to the ECU?
On the Evo I,II,III the starter signal is sent to the ECU. The ECU then decides when to activate the fuel pump relay (and it does this while cranking). Not all Mitsubishi MFI relays are wired the same. The Evo I is a 8 pin connector and these are the pinouts. 3. Main power to ECU, pins 12 & 25 on ECU 7. Ignition and also pin 62 on ECU

Where did the Evo ECU colour chart come from?
A couple were sourced from forums, one was a 3-page scan of a Mitsubishi document, and a couple were sourced from cross referencing to the 4G93 diagrams to see if the pinout had the same use or a better description. Nearly all of the info when put side between each of them matched up or made better sense which helped confirm each pinout.
How many ECU plugs does an Evo have?
Liberoz link is for a later model EVO which has 4 x ECU plugs, not 3 like in the GSR/EVO I-III.
What is the color code for engine wiring?
GENERAL WIRING COLOR CODE Color Use Green or green w/yellow stripe(s) DC Grounding Conductors Black or Yellow DC Negative Conductors Red DC Positive Conductors Engine and Accessory Wiring Color Code Colour Item Use Yellow w/red strip (YR) Starting circuit Starting switch to solenoid Brown/yellow stripe (BY) or Yellow (Y) – see note

What are the different levels of ECU wiring?
The wiring for the different ecu levels are very similar with all the power output and input pins staying the same. The differences are with the extra features added to the later cars for things like closed loop lambda control, knock sensing and air conditioning. Level 1 ecu
Where did the color coding in wiring diagrams come from?
It is to wiring diagrams and circuits as what Ohm’s law is to electricity and e = mc2 is to energy and matter. The Color-Code Legend was born from the process of identifying the simple within the complex. Try it for yourself. Bring together a handful of circuit diagrams and look for the simplified patterns in those circuits.
What is the alpha code on a wiring diagram?
All circuits in the diagrams use an alpha/numeric code to identify the wire and its function. To identify which circuit code applies to a system, refer to the Circuit Identification Code Chart. This chart shows the main circuits only and does not show the second- ary codes that may apply to some models.
Which is the top circuit in color coding?
The top circuit in the Color-Code Legend is “the one.” It’s a graphical representation of the rules all circuits must abide by. The other three circuits build from it and account for fundamental variations. In addition, all circuits build from at least one of these patterns or a combination of them.
