Is there an issue with my Micra K12?
I own a Micra K12, 2004 (04 plate), manual 1.4 SE. It has 63000 miles on the clock and has been regularly serviced and well looked after. I have been experiencing a strange issue recently. As you will know, when the car is started from cold the blue temperature light comes on. This goes off after about 4-5 minutes of driving.
What’s the problem with Nissan Micra engine malfunction?
Just an update incase someone else has the same problem. I think we have found the solution. Although the upstream lambda sensor is coming up as faulty with the code P0132, the actual problem is the downstream lambda sensor. Basically, we had them both changed, but initially only the first one.
What to do about idle choke on Micra K12?
Have a look at the throttle butterfly. If it’s black as the ace of spades, remove the throttle body to the bench and use some carb cleaner (and rag and old toothbrush) to clean it. Don’t swamp it with cleaner – apply to rag or brush first.
How old does a Nissan Micra engine need to be?
Some Tesco stuff thats 4-5 years old probably isnt suitable for a Micra. Really needs to be 5-30 semi synthetic on this engine. If the car has been serviced on schedule by a Nissan dealer they will almost certainly fix it under warranty, or at the very least contribute. If it has been serviced elsewhere they may well say no.

Why does my Nissan Micra have a yellow warning light?
Last december the amber/yellow warning light came up on the dashboard. Took it to a local garage (well know tyre and exhaust company) and a diagnostic was carried out, I was told that it was the oxygen sensor to the front of the exhaust system and it would need replaced. It cost £170 excl the diagnostic, so in total it was just short of £200.
