Is there a problem with my Altima power steering pump?
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Nissan Altima. When the vehicle was cranked, the contact heard a drilling sound. The noise occurred for at least two months.
Is the power steering noise the Nissan club?
Yes thats the same noise I have on my 2014 as well. Its been 7 months and I am used to it, I find it weird how it even makes the noise when you are not even turning the wheel? Im pretty sure thats normal operation for the electric pumps though. The whine goes away when I turn the steering wheel.

Why does my Nissan Altima whine when the engine is on?
If I don’t turn the power steering wheel while the engine is on, it produces lower whining sounds. Thus, boulder Nissan in colorado replaced the problematic pump with a new one. However, the new one is not the solution at all. I have complained this issue against boulder Nissan.
