Is there a problem with accelerating Nissan Rogue?
The Rogue has a drive-by-wire throttle body, it reads a sensor in the accelerator pedal and drives the throttle electronically. The only problem with checking movement of the TB, is you need to pull the intake and mass airflow sensor to see it.
What does it mean when your car doesn’t accelerate?
It’s not like the car didn’t act at all but not way it is supposed to be. Driving about 70 mph rpm about 2500 and after i pushed the gas pedal to the max the rpm jumping to 2900 and the car doesn’t speed up. Stopped by at rest area for a cigarette and then the car acted normally. Does anyone know what is going on?
Is there a fault code on my Nissan?
This is sounding more common where the service tech can’t reproduce the intermittent issue and there are no fault codes to indicate the issue that you have prior to arriving at the dealer.

Eventually it’ll only move in first gear or not at all. If your Rogue won’t accelerate, but the RPM’s do not change, that is an indication that there is an issue with creating power. The issue is going to be something affecting the motor.

Without me telling him the brand of car, only that it was not accelerating he immediately knew it was a Rogue. Apparently the Nissan Rogue is equipped with a governor that when (some technical part, I don’t remember and I’m not a car guy) reaches a certain temperature, the Rogue will cut acceleration to protect itself.

Are there any warning lights on a Nissan Rogue?
No check engine or warning lights come on. I had the same issue and called a mechanic while on the road. Without me telling him the brand of car, only that it was not accelerating he immediately knew it was a Rogue.
Is there a fix for the Nissan Rogue?
He said there’s no real fix and that Nissan actually wants to to act this way because it makes the car last longer. THE FIX he said was to just pull over, turn off the car and wait 5-10 minutes. It’ll reset the system and cool off a little and you’ll be able to accelerate normally again.
