Is the rear wheel of a car hot?
Re: Rear passenger wheel is hot!! You possibly could have sticking brake caliper.Get the back wheels off the ground and make sure they turn freely. Re: Rear passenger wheel is hot!! My bad guys..
What does it mean when your rear wheel spins?
In most cases, this is a sign of a dragging emergency brake, faulty brake pressure issue or wheel bearings that are damaged. If you jack up the rear of the vehicle and your wheel spins freely, then it may be a sign of a warped rear rotor or possibly (but highly unlikely) a bent wheel.
Why are My Rims hot on my Boat?
The other rims were cool except for the opposite (driver rear) was warm. After I got off the boat on my drive home I stomped on the brakes a few times and there did not seem to be any definite pull on a certain side, so I don’t believe it’s a caliper issue (they’re relatively new- 2010 front, 2011 rear).
Why is the rear wheel of my Infinity Hot?
Rear passenger wheel is hot!! Good afternoon NiCO club…new infinity owner…1st issue with car. I am in the military and went to the auto craft shop to change the oil and rotate the tires. Oil is draining and wheels are being rotated from front to rear.
Why does the back of my Car heat up when I drive?
Since it is a rear wheel that is getting hot, it could be the hand brake mechanism that is seizing The brake will only need to be slightly on for it to heat up when driving, so you may not notice much resistance when pushing the car.
Can a faulty wheel bearing cause a hot tire?
A faulty wheel bearing can generate considerable heat also, but would have additional identifiable symptoms such as looseness and/or noise. Good job identifying the excessive heat was localized to one wheel, as that rules out a multitude of other possibilities! Your Town and Country van employs disc brakes on the front axle.
Why is my front wheel smoking and hot?
I went to brake and the brakes mostly failed. When a shop heard the story and pulled the wheel off, he pointed to a piece of metal dragging on the neck of the rotor and said the pads had been put in wrong. They pried the piece away from the rotor and the brakes work ok now.

Why does my right rear brake smell Hot?
None of the others have the smell. I put my hand down near the wheel and it did not feel hot… warm, but not hot. My brakes work fine and there is no squeaking/scraping, etc, so wondering what could be going on. (Yes, I checked and the e-brake is not applied). Thanks for any information. Btw – the car is a LWB W126 sedan.

Why does my steering wheel have a burning smell?
Prior to that I was only getting small vibrations. When I pulled into the ferry line I got out and my rim/rotor was hot on the front passenger side and there was a burning smell. The other rims were cool except for the opposite (driver rear) was warm.
