The used ECU I bought is specific to the model, it has the exact part number and came from the same model/trim of car. The dealer diagnosed the problem as being the computer and wanted $1k to change it out.

Can you install a relay on a Subaru Outback?
Well, you can install the relay if your ECM has signal (? this mean, ECM should be OK) to A/C compressor clutch with system in normal condition. Check the this one first and you will have low idling when you could make this way but you will get cold air hopefully.
