Is the cam chain tensioner a stock part?

Is the cam chain tensioner a stock part?

At 22k I’m sure my cam chain tensioner was fine too, but at 40k my cam shoes were showing significant wear. There was some confusion by my dealer about what was covered under future warranty under the extended service plan so I had them replace with stock parts but next time I will certainly go with the hydraulic option. Thanks again.

Can a roller chain tensioner last 10, 000 miles?

I did my roller chain conversion last fall and now have 10,000 mile on them with no problems. I used the Andrews 26 N cams, Harley B lifters and factory new style oil pump and cam support plate along with the S/E adj push rods. I think they are going to take over the gear drive market because of crank runout problems.

How much does a cam tensioner upgrade cost?

Now, take a look at Kelley Blue Book for this bike’s trade-in value. Balance that number with the idea that you will spend $1,000.00 on this cam plate upgrade… and know that you’ll never get that money back. You are EXACTLY right that for your (our!) vintage of Twin Cam engines, there have been service and quality issues here.

What happens to chain tensioner at 50, 000 miles?

I pulled the exhaust & inspection cover to visually check the adjusters at 40,000 & again at 50,000 miles, (+/-) [see attached photo links] and they appeared OK to me. Very little wear. In fact, there appeared to be almost no change between the 40,000 mile, & 50,000 mile inspection.
