Is the 2006 Cummin ISX good or bad?
I have an 06 isx in my 07 w900 it has 1.4 million on it but was inframed at 1.15 million no problems with the way it pulls or with fuel mileage 6.2 average. Have owned it 2 years and the only problem with it was egr after permanently taking care of that I have not had any more problems.

Historically, Cummins has been cheaper to work on but don’t know if that holds true today. In my experience, the Cat will use a little more fuel. But they all do if you don’t drive right.
What’s the fuel mileage on a 2006 Cummins ISX?
In the last month, my fuel mileage has slowly dropped to 5.5 mpg. The engine is in an ’06 379 Pete, with an 18 speed and 3.70 rears, rolling on 11R 22.5 rubber (XZE3 up front, XDN2 out back, I know they’re not great). I typically drive no faster than 60 mph.
What causes low mpg on a Cummins ISX?
Cylinder power imbalance and low mpg is usually timing/metering actuators on ISX and not the injectors , ask Cummins to check actuators pins and flow . If you have one or two bad is better to change them all .

Do you need to remove DPF on Cummins ISX?
If you are not close to them, you would need to remove the DPF, and get the exact measurements. There are 3 different filters for a Cummins ISX. I kept the old filter, so if I ever sold the truck, I could simply reisntall the old filter, and just take it somewhere to have factory ECM settings put back in the truck.
