The Corolla CVT does not use WS. Currently, it is a dealer-only fluid. Amsoil has not (yet?) certified their CVT fluid for use in the new CVT. Prius and other hybrids are the E-CVT and it is a completely different transmission. I would agree that 50-60k is a good change interval. I’m about to hit 80k with the original fluid..mine is a ’14.
Is it safe to mix WS and CVT fluid?
Drain and fill, CVT fluid. WS and CVT fluid should not mix. To be safe, have it done @ 60K intervals. Which means you’re a bit overdue. Just don’t drive it hard until you can get it done. I had it done at 162,xxx.

Just playing Devil’s Advocate here, since that 4L jug of CVT fluid is ~$65 (+ s/h) on Camelback Toyota Parts. I might try doing this relatively soon. I’m almost at 80k and it hasn’t been touched. Anyone actually do it themselves? Reasons for dropping / not dropping the pan? Are you guys referring to this video?
Where is the drain plug on a CVT transmission?
Click to expand… Check out the video and note the inside of the pan after he drops it. Aside from the “straw” that helps in setting the level, there is a shorter “straw” that it threads into just above the drain plug, AND even the drain plug is not on the bottom of the pan.
