Why are there spark plugs in my Mazda 3?
Took out the spark plugs, then rotated the crankshaft pulley and I could see the camshaft rotate, so that meant to me the timing chain is still in one piece and at least partially functional. Next put a screwdriver into spark plug hole #1 and set the crankshaft pulley to its timing mark.
