What is the purpose of the PCV valve?
The PCV system serves two purposes: one is to vent the excess pressure from the crankcase, the other is to recycle the gas (I mean ‘gas’ as pressurized air containing fuel and oil and other pollutants). By using vented breathers in the valve covers, you are just venting this excess gas/pressure into the air. Shhh….don’t tell Al Gore.
