Is DTS being replaced?
The Department of Defense has approved a new contract to replace its current Defense Travel System, or DTS, reporting process. The new travel system will be phased in over the next three years. The DoD anticipates that all leave, medical, training and exercise travel will be processed through it by 2025.
What is DTS 101?
This class provides basic instruction on how to create travel documents (authorizations, vouchers, and local vouchers) in DTS. This class is recommended for DoD travelers, AOs, and those who create documents (NDEAs and clerks).

A DoD personal services contract employee may use DTS for TDY travel. All other Government contractors are prohibited from using DTS for travel. The regulations in the Federal Acquisition Regulations, subpart 31.205-46, govern Government contractor and contractor’s employee travel costs.
