Why does my Jaguar 2.5 V6 engine not work?
I wouldn’t look at fitting the Ford engine as connecting it up would be difficult e.g. wiring harness mods, different ECU, sensors etc. It does sound like your big end bearings have worn – typically due to low oil pressure and the shells making contact with the crankshaft. Normally there would be a layer of oil between the shells and crank surface.
Why is my Jaguar 2.5 engine making a tapping noise?
After being run a little low on oil, the engine started to make a small tapping noise – Jaguar refilled with oil and said it may be a bottom end fault but the oil should help – it didnt – on the way back from a long trip – the engine started to make a horrendous knocking sound when revving, and oil began leaking.
