Place a new gasket on-top of the lower rocker box and install the new cover. Use the sequence mentioned in Step 2 to install the cover bolts. Tighten the rocker box cover to 15-18 ft-lbs. You are now stripped down to the heads. You will need a 1/2″ 12 point socket to loosen your head bolts. Break them free with one sharp motion; then continue to loosen evenly in a cross pattern. Lift off your heads and remove the old head gaskets.
