The hours permitted for fishing are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. No species of fish may be possessed in the winter catch-and-release area. The Meramec River Red Ribbon Trout Area, which runs from the Missouri Highway 8 bridge to Scotts Ford, may be accessed through the park year-round.

When did the first settlers arrive at Maramec Spring?
In 1826, settlers arrived at Maramec Spring to start the first successful Ironworks west of the Mississippi River. Remains of the ironworks tell us the deep history this Park holds. The stream is restocked every day during fishing season from the 100,000 trout produced by the hatchery each year.

Normal water levels for fishing this area is between 1.5 – 2.5 feet. 3 feet water levels become very difficult for wading (this level you may not be able to cross over the river at the Park). Make sure flow rate is less than 800cfs but less than 400cfs is ideal.
