Squeeze together the two light tan plastic tabs on the rear of the housing to release the plastic lens cover. Pull the lens cover straight off the front of the light housing. Pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket. Push a new # 2825 bulb straight in to the socket.

To reinstall bulb assembly, first insert right-hand side of bulb assembly into hole and push to the right, then insert left-hand side of the assembly into hole. How do you test a license plate light?
The Green/red wire is the 12 volt feed, the Black wire is ground. You will clip the test light to a metallic surface, probe the Green/red wire, it should light up if you have power. If you do, then probe the Black wire. If you show power there, you have a bad ground.
