How do I know if my semi truck clutch is bad?
The clutch pedal should not be loose or easy to push down on, but it also shouldn’t be difficult to engage and disengage. If your clutch pedal is doing the latter, as well as acting stiff or failing to disengage the clutch, this is called a hard clutch, and it’s a problem.
How many miles should a semi clutch last?
For a typical life expectancy you can see anywhere from 250,000 to, well, I’ve seen some guys get a million miles out of a clutch.
What happens if a fuse comes out on a T680?
If you probe into the PDC with anything other than a pin that is the same size as a fuse’s pin, you will spread the terminals in the PDC and the fuse will never make good contact again. The PDC is not serviceable, not even by a dealer. This will lead to te replacement of the PDC, which is NOT cheap. Second, if a fuse came out, a fuse goes back in.
Do you have to touch hydraulic linkage to adjust clutch?
As with any clutch adjustment, you always do the internal adjustment first. So this depends what type of clutch you have, but generally you adjust for that 1/2″ clearance between the release bearing and clutch brake. The hydraulic portion should never have to be touched.
How can I tell if my Clutch is out of adjust?
Your ” freeplay” on a hydraulic linkage is almost non-existant. A good indicator that the clutch is out of adjust is the clutch brake starts to go away from the floor. Also note when your engagment moves to the top of the pedal travel. Any adjustment on the hydraulic side would vary by OEM and often there is no need or way to adjust.
Where is the fuse box on a bostontanker T680?
BostonTanker and mountaingote Thank this. There are three fuse panels on NGP’s (T680 + T880, PB 567 + 579) with sleepers. Open the hood and look on the D/S firewall for the PDC (Power Distribution Center) and there will be a small fuse box there.
