Do you have to have a fuel pump replacement?
A fuel pump replacement doesn’t have to be either of those things. With some care and attention to detail, anyone with fair mechanical proficiency and a set of hand tools can get the job done. As with any project, be sure you have on hand all of the parts (be sure they’re the correct parts!) and tools you’ll need for the whole job.
Can a fuel pump be removed from a Honda Accord?
The exhaust heat shield may need to be removed to access one of the 14mm strap bolts. First, disconnect the clip on top of the fuel pump. Then, use a 10mm socket to remove the nuts that secure the fuel pump to the tank. Once all the nuts are off, pull the unit out from the tank and remove the pump from its bracket.
How do you replace a fuel pump on a Honda Civic?
The voltmeter is irrelevant and not needed to replace the fuel pump. When the cover is removed, there are a number of items you have to remove before the pump can be retrieved. Slip off the boot that covers the wiring connector. Unplug the connector. Use pliers to remove the clamp on the rubber hose. Disconnect the main fuel line.
