How can I Fix my steering column tilt?
If you have VATS, there should be an additional pair of wires to unplug and feed down along the column. Remove the column tilt release lever by unscrewing it. Set it nearby since you will need to reinstall it after the upper bowl trim jacket is removed. Remove the turn signal/multifunction lever shaft by carefully pulling it out of the switch.
What should I torque the steering wheel nut to?

Normal operation is the column position sensors disable the relays when at the end of the travel. So this makes me think the column thinks it is all the way up, when it is actually all the way down.

There is no individual parts to buy for the Steering column. If you look on ebay you can find alot of steering columns from used gl450, just make sure you get the one thats power as there are aslo manual steering columns. Good luck I recently has problem on my car .
