The 2008 Jeep Patriot 2.4L engine is an non-interference engine (BUT IF THE CAMSHAFTS ROTATE INDEPENDENTLY VALVES MAY BE BENT). So if the chain does brake there should not be any damage to the engine.

Click to expand… DAW I am being told is the off road crawl option. Well, all ’07 CVT’s had the low range, whether FD2 or not. FD2 would say “offroad” next to the L, but I’d say it’s worth a look.
