Do car sun shades really work?
The short answer is yes. Car sunshades do work in reducing the overall temperature inside your vehicle. The traditional reflective models work by reflecting the sun’s solar rays and harmful UV rays while non-reflective shades absorb them. Some tests have shown a decrease in interior temperature of 30 degrees or more.
What to do with a broken sun visor?
What i found is the plastic rod that goes up through the mount that screws to the headline simply broke leaving a small ring of the broken part, then the remaining rod that has nothing to hold the visor in place. What I did was I found a very narrow screw about 1″ long with a larger washer.

How do you repair a worn out vinyl visor?
You will probably find a portion of the vinyl worn away near the center of the shaft. Use 5 minute EPOXY to build that area back up to the level of the vinyl. After it sets (24 hours or so) carefully file the epoxy level with the vinyl so the shaft will fit back into the visor. Reinstall the shaft. Reinstall the visor.
Can you use duct tape to hold a visor up?
Hold the visor all the way up and attach the clip on the horizontal bar at the side of the visor. This will hold the visor up, which can be lowered to desired height. The clip may need to be reapplied when moving the visor back up. It works just fine and isn’t as frustrating as using duct tape! yes mine are both broke 2007, same popping sound…
