Can you stay overnight at Enchanted Rock?
Primitive Campsites (Hike-in) No ash-producing fires are permitted in this area. You may use containerized fuel stoves that can be turned off for cooking. Minors (under 17) who are not camping with a sponsored group must provide a written consent form to stay overnight. No hammocks allowed in primitive camping areas.
What can you bring to Enchanted Rock?
Loop Trail | 4.6 miles The loop trail is over 4 miles and guides you around the park where you can see Enchanted Rock from multiple views and vantage points as well as see some beautiful hill country scenery. This is also the only Enchanted Rock hike that allows pets.
Can you bring food to Enchanted Rock?

Can you have fires at Enchanted Rock?
Enchanted Rock is currently under a burn ban due to extreme fire conditions. No wood, charcoal, or other open fires are allowed. Containerized fuel (i.e. propane) for cooking are currently allowed. Contact us if you have any questions.

Sites are located near the shower building, with water faucets nearby. Some sites have shade shelters over the picnic table. Campsites are 25 to 100 yards from the parking area. No RVs, pop-ups, or vehicle camping is allowed.

Are Hammocks allowed at Enchanted Rock?
Any hammocks or tarps must be hung from shelters; some sites do not have shelters. All park visitors must be off the trails by half an hour after sunset. Only the Loop Trail remains open for hiking until 10 P.M., when all non-campers must exit the park. No RVs, pop-ups, or vehicle camping is allowed.

Boats, jet skis and wave runners are allowed. All State of Texas Laws apply to any vessel operating on Moss Creek Lake. Nothing may be towed or otherwise pulled behind a self contained skiing unit.

Are there hammocks at Enchanted Rock State Park?
No hammocks allowed in primitive camping areas. A primitive campground for groups of adventurers, close to climbing, hiking and nature. The area has dedicated parking, a private entrance, and a private camping area.
When do new rules take effect at Enchanted Rock?
FREDERICKSBURG— Beginning March 1, new rules will take effect at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area designed to balance the need to better protect sensitive natural habitats atop the rock, including the vernal pools, and still allow visitors to continue to enjoy central Texas’ most popular destination with their pets.
Are there pets at Enchanted Rock State Park?
To protect the ecosystem of this Natural Area, pets are only allowed in the designated picnic areas, the campgrounds, and on the Loop Trail. Pets are not permitted on the Summit Trail leading to Enchanted Rock’s highest dome, or any of the seven peaks of the granite uplift. The park gate opens at 6:30 am and closes at 8:00 PM.
