Disconnect the door retainer that holds the door open either by hammering the pin upwards, by unbolting it, or by cutting it off. Unbolt the door from the hinges or in the older Jeep Cherokee’s case, cut the hinges with a sawzall.

How does a Jeep Grand Cherokee bumper kit work?
Your factory plastic bumper shell is currently mounted to a thin plastic frame which is attached to a steel crossmember. Our kit completely replaces that crossmember, eliminates the flimsy plastic structure, and provides a new heavy duty steel frame which also includes the new winch mounting provisions.
