Can I put headphones in line out?
You can plug headphones into a Line Out, but the audio will be barely audible, if audible at all through the headphones. That is because the audio signal through the line out is usually not strong enough to drive headphones. Even if the audio is loud enough, the bass will be much reduced.
Can I connect headphone output to amplifier?
Connecting headphones out to an amplifier’s line-in is ok. Audio won’t be as great, but it’ll not damage the amplifier or speakers. The voltage in headphones out connection isn’t all that high to damage a line-in. Headphones out connections have a low output impedance.
Can you use a DAC with an iPod?
Yes, but I said “bypass iPod’s internal DAC”. So it is not a case of “DAC-to-DAC connection”, because there is only one DAC being used. (Anyway it is impossible to connect DAC to DAC. Each one is digital-to-analogue only; you can’t convert analogue to analogue–that is not a conversion.)
Is a headphone amplifier worth it?
Your pair of high-impedance professional-grade or HiFi headphones may require a headphone amp to reach their full potential. Similarly, the audio quality may suffer greatly if there is no headphone amplifier to adjust the audio signal properly. Headphone amplifiers are nearly always worth it in these situations.
Is aux out the same as line out?
A signal is traveling out of the amp and into the headphones. The “aux in” jack on your amp, however, is just that–an input. Similarly, the “line out” jack on the back of your amp is just that–an output. The signal is traveling out of your amp to some other destination, such as a PA system or recording gear.
How do you plug headphones into an amp?
You will need to use an adapter to connect your headphones to your guitar amp. A simple 3.5mm to 6.3mm audio adapter like this one (link to Amazon) is all you need to connect your headphones to your guitar amp.
Can headphone port be used as aux?
there is ZERO chance of using a headphone OUTPUT as an INPUT. generally all inputs can not be used as outputs and all outputs can not be used as inputs. the only exceptions are hdmi (arc) and on some soundcards which are wired to allow for port swapping.
What does line out mean on an iPod?
The line out is a line level signal, meaning it doesn’t go through the iPods headphone amp circuitry. If you are going to another source such you will get better results with the line level.
Can a headphone plug be used as a line out?
Either is OK as a line out, but if you’re using the headphone jack as a line out, you’ll need to set the volume to 2/3 (or so) to be loud enough to register, but quiet enough to avoid distortion.
Which is better line out or 4G earbuds?
The amp circuitry can colorize the sound and you avoid that with the line out. The 3G iPods had better amps than the new 4G. The 4G amp is optimized for use with the Apple earbuds. The Apple earbuds do sound better with 4G iPods, but high end headphones do not (wish I had kept my 3G for this).
