Can a transmission shift into a 5th gear?
We lost the transmission. I bought a used one and installed it. It runs great in 1st through 4th gears but it won’t shift to 5th or 6th in either automatic or self-shift modes. I’m getting the following code : P0713 – Power train Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Circuit High Input.
Why does my car not go into 5th gear?
Okay guys, so I’ve been driving around recently and for the past 3 days my car really dislikes trying to get into 5th gear =/ when i try going from 4th to 5th it seems like there is something blocking the way for the gearstick to get into gear = ( I’ve tried hopping gears e.g. 3rd to 5th but exactly same thing happens.
Can a car shift into 5th or reverse?
Sometimes shifting the lever in the car, it sure feels like you are hitting the correct gates, but the car is NOT in reverse of 5th. (It is in 3rd and 4th). I even borrowed linkage of the other non-drivers I have, but still can’t make it work.

Why wont my 5th gear slot into place?
Mine wont select 5th at the moment but thats mainly due to the rod linkage kunckle joint dissapearing down the road the other day, so i have a very flappy gear stick until this afternoon when i fit a new linkage. Hope this helps. Cheers man, will look into this tonight.
