Can a Polaris 850XP start without a shot of ether?
Been trying to get a god damned 2014 Polaris 850XP with 996 miles on it to start without a shot of starter fluid. The pile of shit will crank and crank and crank, but will not start without the chemical kick. Tried new battery because of the voltage was sagging a bit while it cranked, and cranked and cranked.
What’s the problem with my Polaris Sportsman 90?
Had all kinds of issues in the first few months, but never had to unplug the taillight. The only thing Polaris about it is the stickers on the Plastic….it has Taiwan written all over it including the engine. Thanks Chaser. I tried unplugging the taillight, but that didn’t resolve the issue.
Can you scan a Polaris ATV with a scan tool?
Give her a shot and it fires right up. Unless you are a shit bag Polaris Dealership, you can’t get a scan tool to diagnose it with. Had to do it the hard way with a scope, TPS-good, MAP sensor-good, fuel pressure-good, coils-good, IAC-good, pickup coil-good.
Why does my 2004 Polaris Sportsman 400 not start?
I have a 2004 Polaris sportsman 400. when it starts the instrument cluster flashes and the machine shuts down. Whats it telling me? How do I fix? front wheel (4×4) will not engage, speedometer works fine, hubs are full, not short that I can detect?

My screen flashes and reads HOT. The fan is on all the time. The only way to get the fan to turn off is to disconnect the battery.
What should Batt voltage be on Polaris starter?
Check your batt voltage 12.5v or more would be nice then clean, check, tighten every connection between the batt and your solenoid. If all of this passes take the wire going to your starter and connect it direct to positive batt.
Why is the solenoid on my Polaris not working?
It’s almost always a sign of 1 of these. Low voltage to the solenoid or bad solenoid. 90% the low voltage. Check your batt voltage 12.5v or more would be nice then clean, check, tighten every connection between the batt and your solenoid.
