The v-star as mentioned about is low and lighter than it looks. It has good power, but nothing that will pop a wheelie or get you in trouble too much. They are great looking bikes and are reliable.

I’m toying with the idea of ditching the stock air cleaner on my Yamaha XVS 650 (V-Star) 1997 and getting a hypercharger. Problem is all the ones I can find on the internet seem to fit 1998 onwards. Anyone know where I could get one for a 97?

You want a nice doog-a-doog-a-doog-a-doog-a sound, rather that a sputtery ‘potato potato’ of a Harley. As Noise mentioned, alter the balance to keep the rear cylinder cool as well. I used a Colortune kit. Too Loud? Too Bad! Interests:Cars, Bikes, WW1&2, Tanks (ex Chally 2 Crewman) Heavy metal!

I have an 04 V star 650 with a hypercharger on it that was on the bike when I got it the bike runs good up to 40 mph but after that it will spit and sputter during acceleration. I am wanting to go back to the original air cleaner housing but would like to get suggestions on where to get it from.
