In the past Polaris has recommend that if you consistently drive at less than 7 mph you need to be in low. Your average speed of 5 mph would indicate that you need to drive most of the time in low. I don’t know what a normal lifetime of a belt would be but I have never had to replace one in over 20 years of using them.

Yes, it is intermitent but in the garage and not moving it seems to happen pretty much every time now. No range shifting in motion. The problem only happens upshifting low to high, sitting still, engine at idle, foot on brake. The driven clutch is spinning in neutral.

Why does my Polaris Ranger shift into high range?

On occassion, it is necessary to shut off the engine and shift into high range before restarting. It is not a linkage issue. There is plenty of throw available for the shift lever to fully engage at the transmission.
