Are there any problems with the Hilux Surf Club?
Toyota Model: 2001 Hilux Surf 2.7 & 1991 Hilux Surf 4.0 V8. 9 times out of 10 it’ll be the cylinder head thats cracked, not the gasket I’m affraid. The heater matrix may have been by-passed as they can sometimes leak coolant onto the carpet on the passenger side. Pull the carpet back and check for damp.

Fill expansion tank to halfway, and top up the coolant by removing the radiator cap on the thermostat housing, and leaving the cap off overnight. How does the water pump work on a Hilux?
