Britpart uses a smaller diameter retaining spring which does not come apart like the Land Rover seal spring does. If you have seals whose springs do not separate, you will need to either reuse the springs from the old seals or replace the seals per the workshop manual instructions.

Apply a good quality RTV between the edges of the cut. This is to fill any gap. Form a gasket would be good here. Set the seal in place with the cut section at the top.
