Daniel. Is the park brake still working despite the warning message, or is it permanently released or permanently on? There are a number of problems with the XF’s Electronic Park Release reported if you Google it.

Jaguar have had problems with electronic park brakes for years. They might look neat, but they are a pain in the neck when they start causing problems. Hi Lee thanks for the reply, the handbrake is permanently released. The only answers I can find are either a wire has snapped or the battery could be low.

In the morning when voltage is at 12.3V i get the Gearbox Fault, but once the car warms up and has been driven, voltage goes above 12.4V and the Gearbox Fault warning disappears.

The AA have diagnosed the problem as being a faulty brake switch which is interlinked with the other systems and setting off the Fault warnings. Having checked the logged Fault codes for no other issues the Car is reported as being safe to drive to the dealer to have the switch changed, noting that the brake lights aren’t working!
