What are the specs on a Jaguar Sovereign?
My 85 Jaguar Sovereign European version is stamped 3.058 on the differential tag. Did you round this up to 3.07? Or is the list for US jaguars only? I believe the Sovereign’s diff is also limited slip.
Is there a 3.54 power lock diff for a Jaguar 4HU?
The stock settings are way to strong for such a medium light weight car. Anyone got a 3.54 power lock diff going spare? It NEEDS to be ramp rate changed…BUT IMHO you would never do this today, as a Gripper unit is the way to go. By Gripper do you mean a LSD like Quaife? That would of course be the best, but hidiously expensive? Yes.
Is the Jaguar 4HU a road car or an ATB?
For a road car though an ATB every time. its a fit and forget and a job for all seasons, being gentler and offering a little more driver safety if you are pushing on…In extreme cases on lifting wheels you do spin some power away and I have only really found this on very tight hairpins where I am pushing on..

What was the power lock ratio on the Jaguar XJ?
By design, the half retainer can’t get out into the gears where they would do major damage. But it does get pushed out the end of its access hole, mucking up the carrier bearings. Beginning in 1987, there was a differential referred to as the GKN Power Lock with a 2.88:1 ratio.
