Why is my gearbox fault warning coming on?

The dashboard in my car was showing the gearbox fault warning on. I went to the shop and they checked the vehicle. As the battery was found to have a lower than normal voltage, they had it replaced. This however, hasn’t cleared the trouble code.

Why does my car slow down after shifting gears?

The first car gearbox problem we will be addressing on this list concerns the acceleration of the car. At times while driving you will notice a slight delay in the acceleration of the car after shifting gears. But a delay not longer than a second is acceptable in the case of manual transmissions occasionally.

What happens when the fluid level in the gearbox is too low?

If the fluid level is too low, the gearbox runs with more friction which in turn generates more heat. This heat loosens the transmission fluid, rendering it useless and causes even more heat build-up.

What does the automatic transmission / automatic gearbox light do?

If the computer detects any abnormal readings from the sensors, a code will be stored and the automatic transmission indicator light will turn on to alert the driver of possible issues. Malfunctioning sensors will also give false readings causing the light to come on so always have the sensors tested again.

What does the automatic transmission / automatic gearbox warning light mean?

What Does the Automatic Transmission/Automatic Gearbox Warning Light Mean? The automatic transmission warning light means there’s an issue with the transmission, possibly the fluid temperature, fluid level, or pressure. Is it safe to drive with the automatic transmission light on?

When the error was gone that jerk was gone too. Car has 140000 km done, always serviced at the dealer and multitronic oil replaced as it should be. Never had any problems with the car, ride is always smooth, without any difference if it’s cold or warm,it holds on the hill strongly.

When does a bad gearbox make a clunking noise?

Commonly, the noise is loudest when letting out the clutch when taking off from a stop. Alternatively, if the rear transmission is bad in a rear-wheel-drive vehicle, the noise will occur when letting out the clutch in reverse as the tail shaft of the transmission rises up and slams back down. Broken mounts may also result in a clunking noise

Why does my transmission change at the wrong time?

If, however, you’ve noticed the transmission change its behaviour, and you know that the gear changes are delayed, the cause is a control issue. That is, the computer controlling the transmission is changing gear at the time it feels is correct.
