Where is the tailgate glass on a Jaguar X-type?
Contact your Jaguar Dealer/Authorised Repairer to have this feature enabled. The tailgate glass can be opened separately from the complete tailgate. Press the release button 3, located on the reverse of the tailgate glass handle, and lift the tailgate glass. I can only imagine it may be a fault with the fob or the programming of the fob.
What causes tailgate glass to pop on X type?
We have seen several X-type est. this year all popping the tailgate glass when the ign. is turned to on or even off as the engine is shut down, all have been caused by the tailgate switch under the rear wiper arm, an easy fix with a few tools to replace with new one from Jag. Oops. Dealer: ‘It needs a new module, £600. What’s the question?’

There are some curious issues with the tailgate, which, never having had an estate car of any kind, I would not even try a guess at. In respect of the tyre noise, some tyres are noisier than others and tyre pressure can have a bearing. I had an X Type saloon [2.5 petrol] running on Pirellis and it was very quiet.
