Why is my Jaguar XF remote not working?
– The boot stopped opening on remote or with the button on the boot. It does open by putting the key into the hidden lock. I am not sure if this is battery related or the wires getting split in the harness. – The dash said that the remote battery was low – I have since replaced this.

If you have a multi-meter connect it over the battery terminals when the engine is off and see what the voltage is. e.g. 12.6v, then start the car and measure the voltage, if it’s less than 13.5-14v then I would say the alternator (or associated voltage regulator) is broken and you need to replace it.

JAG. Independents are really good, but electrics are bit of a black art. Could be worth getting it checked by professional Auto Electrician. Final & last resort is use special charger designed for maintaining battery power when cars are in storage for few weeks. I am sure That I read of someone on here that did this, problems stopped.
