Why is the climate control on my Jaguar so hot?

Why is the climate control on my Jaguar so hot?

Just had mine done, it was blowing hot air through drivers vents no matter what but cooler through passenger vents. It had climate control valve replaced not sure it they had to do a repair on circuit board behind control panel. But the garage was saying £400ish but I wasn’t bothered as the dealer I bought of was footing the bill.

How does the air conditioning work in a jaguar’s type?

The temperature of the air coming through the vents is controlled by the Air Conditioning Control Module. All S-Type’s have Digital Control as standard, allowing occupants of the front seats to choose the precise temperature required using the temperature control buttons next to the LCD display in the centre of the dashboard.

Why does my Jaguar heater blow only cold air?

The flaps etc seem to be working, air flow moving around from floor to screen etc when selecting appropriate buttons – but air is always cold unless engine doing over 3000 revs (pressume extra pressure from fast running engine makes some hot water travel through heater matrix even if pump not running? – Does this indicate heater matrix is ok?)

How to turn off a Jaguar A / C heater?

Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Simultaneously press and hold AUTO and RECIRC buttons. See Fig. 1. Turn ignition switch to ON position while holding buttons. All display elements should illuminate and segments will flash on and off. If any display elements or segments do not light, an A/C-heater control panel or light fault is indicated.

How does the climate control work on a Jaguar?

When its on auto I get loads of hot air into the footwells but nothing from the face or screen vents. This results in my feet sweating while my face is going numb with cold! I have tested the direction controls and if I manually select windscreen or dash vents they work as expected.

The temperature of the air coming through the vents is controlled by the Air Conditioning Control Module. What to look for in a Jaguar S-type?

We will explain what you need to look for: The temperature of the air coming through the vents is controlled by the Air Conditioning Control Module.

Why does my stype diesel blow out warm air?

MY stype diesel on an 04 plate with 77000 miles on the clock, has started blowing out warm air from the vents at whatever temp it is set at, I have had air con regassed and compressor is working but it has made no difference I conclude therefore I have a non working motor or flap problem.

What’s the resistance of the solenoids on a jaguar’s type?

Tested DCCV solenoids for resistance. Passenger side 12 ohms (a bit low), drivers side 9 ohms (too low). Bought new valve on net for £79, arrived next day. Before fitting, measured the resistance of new solenoids and both were 15 Ohms, confirming a problem with old valve.

Why does my jaguar’s type have hot air on both sides?

Sometimes just one valve will stick, causing hot air on just one side of the cabin, and sometimes both valves can stick causing hot air on both sides of the cabin. It is VERY important to fix this issue as soon as possible, as further damage can be caused to the heating system if the DCCV is not repaired or changed.

Where are the heating pipes on a Jaguar?

The common problem with the system described above is the failure of the DCCV. From this unit, two pipes go into the dashboard – one pipe for the Drivers side heating, and one pipe for the Passengers side heating.

What causes a Jaguar climate control to fail?

When the Heater Valve becomes faulty, it begins to draw too much current, which causes the Climate Control Module to become damaged (i.e. failure due to over-current condition). 4. Harness/wiring problems between the Heater Valve and Climate Control Module. 5. Failure at one or more air mixing/blending flaps. 6. Or a combination of the above cases.

Why is the solenoid on my Jaguar heater not working?

It is an active low circuit, so when the DCCV sees Ground at either the LH and/or RH pin, the respective solenoid within the DCCV activates. Case 1: Temperature setting “Lo” = CCM output ON (grounded) = solenoid ENERGZIED = solenoid valve CLOSED = coolant flow to heater core impeded = heater core NOT HOT when A/C is ON.

Why does my air conditioner keep blowing hot air?

Driver and/or passenger vent (s) blow (s) hot/warm air only, even when the controls are set to max cold “Lo” (or any other level). This may occur on just the driver side, just the passenger side, or both sides. It may be intermittent. 1.

Where are the temperature sensors on a Jaguar 03-08?

4. Check the Evaporator Discharge Temperature sensor (s) located under the dash. On the 03-08 S-Type, there is one (1) sensor at the passenger side, and two (2) sensors at the the driver side, all attached to the Evaporator housing under the dash, just above the transmission tunnel. Measure the resistance of each sensor.

Where is the DCCV located on a Jaguar?

If you do your own repairs, the DCCV is located just behind the drivers side fog lamp, accessible from underneath and removing the underside bumper cover. either sticky valve or broken wires. (The wires may look intact but a gentle tug and the insulation will just fall apart.

How does the climate control work on a jaguar’s type?

Later models offer two temperature-selector sets as part of the dual climate control system. Fan – This control adjusts the blower speed. Many S-Type panels use a knob to control the speed; a push of the knob turns the fan on or off. Fahrenheit/Celsius – This button changes the temperature display units from Fahrenheit to Celsius.

When to replace a / C and heater controls on a Jaguar?

Only 1 left! Like any other frequently used component, the A/C and heater controls on your Jaguar S-Type experience wear over time. When the climate-control system fails or starts to behave erratically, it’s a sign that you may need a replacement control in front of or behind the dash.

When did the Jaguar S-type go out of production?

The Jaguar S-Type was in production from 1999 to 2008, and the car went through several redesigns during its lifetime. To ensure you get a compatible part for your Jaguar, go through these steps: Select a part – Choose from HVAC control panels, water valves, heater control valves, air temperature sensors, and more.

How many versions of the Jaguar control module are there?

The 1999 – (early 2002) modules, though still susceptible to damage, have a more robust design that reduces the chance of said damage. For 2003-2008 models, there are three (3) versions of the module.

How to diagnose a heater leak in a Jaguar?

1. Unbolt the Coolant/Water Expansion Tank, set it aside so it doesn’t block access to the Heater Valve. 2. Loosen the bolt that secures the Heater Valve to the car. 3. Rotate the Heater Valve to get access to its connector. Procedure A (This one is messy. We recommend that you do Procedure B instead.):

Why is my Jaguar S-type drawing too much current?

Both of its solenoids were drawing too much current (one of which was tested at over 6 amps, an 850% over-current condition!): There is no over-current fault-protection circuitry that protects it against damage due to faulty Heater Valve. This applies to S-Types from (late 2002) through 2008.
