Why is the boot not open on my 2009 Jaguar XF?
On my 2009 Jaguar XF Supercharged i have the BOOT OPEN error message and the remote and exterior trunk release buttons do not work. I was told by the dealer to replace the latch, which I did.
How do you open the boot on a Jaguar?
Then push it back in to the hole, but then push it further so the whole thing goes in to the car. Then pull the rubber boot from the boot lid and cut away the rubber that is secured to the cable. Then you should be able push the rubber boot back and you will be able to see the broken cable.

Jaguar XF – Boot showing open but actually closed and the car won’t lock via remote. Parked my car today got out and tried to lock it via the remote and the door buttons but got the blip sound to say a door was open. Checked all doors and they were closed.

What to do if you get a message on your Jaguar dash?
The air suspension system is too low. Start the engine and wait for the message to clear before driving the vehicle. If the message is displayed while you are driving, restrict your speed until the message is cleared. If the message is persistently shown, inform your Jaguar Dealer. The driver’s and/or one or more passenger doors are open.
How do you get the boot out of a Jaguar?
From what I can remember, pull the rubber boot out from where it goes in to the car and with a sharp blade cut the rubber that holds it to the cable – don’t cut the boot itself. Then push it back in to the hole, but then push it further so the whole thing goes in to the car.
