I AM NOT SUGGESTING YOU DO THAT but it did work. 7 people found this helpful. These hood releases on Jaguars seem to be a recurring problem. The cable has a sheath and core. Hold onto the sheath with some vice grips and pull at the wire core, this will snap open the hood hopefully, but the problem will still exist.

When the cover is back on it partially covers the latches but in the photo ‘Left Latch with cover’ the latch is between the two square brackets. Push it to the left and the bonnet will pop. You can see it better in ‘Left latch uncovered’.
