What do you put in a door lock on a Jaguar?
I sprayed a load of WD40 into the mechanism and through the interior handle about 2 years ago and it’s been fine ever since. The gold thing is a cover which you need to remove.

I’m wondering if the link that I found is unique to the USA or something?…., the inside of my 2004 X Type Sport door doesnt look like this…, similar but for the rather major gold covering.. I would really appreciate any help with this one..

Can a key fob not lock a car?
So with a failed boot sensor, the car will never lock on the fob! The fob can be set to open all doors together on one press of the fob or driver’s door and boot only on first press and other doors on a second press.
How to remove and refit the drivers door lock assembly?
Drivers side was a sod…I only undid the bottom of the channel through which the electric window cable runs; this gives plenty of room through which to retrieve the door lock mechanism.

Is the security module on a Jaguar working?
Am i correct in assuming that the security module is working because the alarm works, key fob programming sequence works.
What should I do if my Jaguar door module fails?
On older XJ’s the first port of call was to check all the connections on the various modules, I’m not sure if the X350 suffers in the same way but I’ll have a check & a look at the DDM to see if there are any signs of water ingress etc. Many thanks John
Is there a problem with the DDM in a Jaguar?
Had door card off to look at DDM but nothing obvious such as signs of water or damp on the unit is visible. The only thing I noticed was electrical tape around the wiring as it enters the rubber cover before it leaves the door.
