What is DSC on a Jaguar XF?

The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system does not compensate for driver error or misjudgement. The DSC system helps to maintain the vehicle’s stability in critical driving situations, e.g., during unstable driving behaviour such as understeer and oversteer.

Can a DSC system fault be found on a Jaguar?

Chelmsford Carriage Company stuck her on diagnostic but typically the light stayed resolutely off and no fault was found. They’ve referred me to an auto electrical specialist but before I part with yet more of my hard-earned I wondered if anyone here had similar experience and/or ideas?

When does the DSC system fault message come up?

When I first turn on the ignition, the message isn’t there and when I press the DSC button, the display shows DSC Off, then DSC On when pressed again (as expected). When I start the car, the fault message comes up on the dash (along with the amber light).

Why is my DSC not working in my car?

Sometimes it appears while I’m driving, sometimes on startup. If I turn everything off and restart the car it sometimes clears. It seems to be more frequent when it is raining – and without DSC (IE: Traction control) the car is a bit lairy in the wet, especially as I need to get the tyres replaced anyway (had to wait for payday on that one).
