Why is my Hyundai Getz not shifting into gear?
On Friday last week, I started the car in the morning to go out and it started normally – drove for about a 100 meters where I had to stop to get the security door opened. After the brief stop, when I tried to shift it into gear, the lever won’t budge.
Is there a problem with the gear box?
We had this car booked in today for almost impossible to engage first gear, all other gears were fine. The problem is stretched cables but a quick fix is possible. If you go to select reverse gear you will notice that once the gate is lifted that first is easily now selected. The rods will need a slight kink in them.

What are the problems with the Hyundai Santa Fe transmission?
Transmission slams into gear, also slips into gear and sometimes moves when in park. Car jerks violently when at highway speed even though it has new shocks, struts, and front drive axles. The transmission also seems to engage suddenly when moving forward from complete stop. Regular maint.
